Qualification: Min HNC or equivalent, preferably degree in engineering or related field.

Experience: Preferably 3 to 5 years of relevant management experience and 10 to 15 years of pertinent work experience.

Reports to: Manager of Project

Supervises: All Engineering Staff



Functional Duties: Manages and coordinates all resources and workload within the engineering department. Directs all engineering staff to execute engineering work with safety in design and technical integrity / excellence as highest priorities. Monitors adherence to company and client procedures, standards and industry norms. Continuously monitors and improves working practices and culture to meet client expectations. Assists in the preparation of CTR’s, winning proposals and executing contract work.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitoring progress to maintain compliance to those schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the Project with all Chief Discipline Engineers. Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the Company.
  • Supervisors Recruitment based on workload forecasts prepared by Project Controls Department.
  • Coordinates the production of deliverables lists and cost, time and resources (CTR’s) for Proposals.
  • May assist the assigned Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of the technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project. Helps determine the technical skills and man-hours required.
  • Ensures client criteria and scope is understood and met by all engineering disciplines. Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client. Understands the client's business goals in order to enhance the project work.
  • Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and documentation of activity for the client and management.
  • Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
  • Reviews and approves change orders. Notifies affected personnel of all changes.
  • Interfaces with procurement in coordination with vendors/subcontractors. Assists in bid analysis, vendor availability and capability.
  • Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
